- January 2006—meetings begin to plan Citizens Hearing on Healthcare Reform
- May 21, 2006 – Citizens Hearing on Healthcare Reform – at Temple Sinai, Squirrel Hill/Pittsburgh—with Congressman John Conyers, Congressman Mike Doyle, State Senator Jim Ferlo, and others, including 300 – 350 in attendance
- 6-7-06 and 6-7-07 Rallies in front of Highmark in support of HR 676
- Postcard campaign
- Physicians letter
- Meetings/Networking/Speaking engagements re: single-payer with faith groups (Pittsburgh Interfaith Impact Network*, Pittsburgh Presbytery Health, Education, and Welfare network, Sixth Presbyterian Church, Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, Bidwell Presbyterian Church, Temple Sinai, SW PA Synod, Rodef Shalom), labor (SEIU 1199P resolution in support of HR 676; Letter Carriers; Labor Councils), healthcare providers (including universal health care panel at UPMC in Jan. ’07; physicians; med students,; social workers; nurses), AARP, other community agencies/organizations (including Working Families Win), Pitt law school class

- Meetings with elected officials and candidates for U.S. House of Representatives/canvassing on single-payer reform in fall 2006

- Participation in monthly teleconferences with Healthcare-Now and national strategy meetings in Chicago, to coordinate national grassroots strategies/actions, and April 24, 2007 “teach in” for Congressmen/women with John Conyers and single-payer advocates in Washington, D.C.

- April 11, 2007 – Morton Mintz, retired Washington Post reporter speaking at Carnegie Mellon University on “Business Sense, Common Sense, and Healthcare” (in support of single-payer)
- May 1, 2007 – Allegheny County Council endorses HR 676
- April 2007 – meeting with Doug Shields, President of Pittsburgh City Council, re: introduction of Pittsburgh resolution in support of HR 676 (he is supportive; for follow-up)
- May 20, 2007 – Citizens Forum on Healthcare Reform – at Birmingham United Church of Christ in Carrick (South Hills)
- June 3, 2007 – Citizens Forum on Healthcare Reform – at LaRoche College, North Hills
- July 18, 2007 – Participation at Community Forum on Healthcare Reform, United Steelworkers building.
- Leafletting at “Sicko”—about 7000 leaflets distributed

- Leafletting and marching (carrying single-payer banner) with Branch 84 Nat. Assoc. of Letter Carriers in 9/3/07 Labor Day Parade
- Dec. 11, 2007—Pittsburgh City Council Pres. Doug Shields issues Proclamation declaring 12/14/07 National Healthcare Day and encourages all residents to learn more about single-payer, universal healthcare reform
- Dec. 14, 2007—National Healthcare Day, lobby, City-County Building, to promote HR 676 and the single-payer solution. Healthcare-NOW’s SiCKO-Cure Roadshow joins the event.
